We are full up …

Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue have had to make the very difficult decision to cease admission of animals and birds for the next couple of weeks. We will keep reviewing this as the animal numbers are frequently lowering following releases. The main reason we need to implement this is due to working at absolute capacity presently, and our facilities will not allow us to take in any more animals without compromise to welfare. We especially have large numbers of baby and juvenile creatures that need extra attention and are with us for longer periods of time. Naturally it is our priority to make sure all the animals and birds with us receive the best care possible.
We would like to emphasise however, that we are still very much available for advice, assistance with large animals (e.g. swans stuck in gardens) or transport to veterinary surgeons and as much help as we can provide to the community. This is NOT at all any kind of quarantine situation. We are working closely with many veterinary surgeries and the RSPCA who all support us at this time.
We would urge members of the public to still contact us with any animal related queries, but please do not be perturbed for the time being if we refer you to the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 (choosing the options for an animal in distress) or a vet. We will answer other queries via telephone or email (we endeavour to answer all emails within 48 hours so if urgent please contact the RSPCA) and we will be posting wildlife first aid advice on our Facebook page to ensure all our community and supporters know what to do and who to contact if they find any animal that needs help.
We thank everyone for their support and patience at this time. We would like to assure the public that this is just temporary and we will put word out as soon as we are able to take animals again.
