Welcome to The Oak & Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre

The centre formed 14 years ago in the South Cotswolds, after operating from home for 5 years.

Sifront0ck,injured and orphaned wildlife are cared for and treated, then released back into the wild.

Serena Stevens, the founder of the centre and a few volunteers have worked tirelessly since 1990, saving tens of thousands of injured and orphaned wildlife.

The centre has become a registered charity (Reg. Charity No. 1115926) and very proud of our new status we are too! With our new found 'fame' we have had to improve the existing facilities, renew equipment and we are almost finished refurbishing and refitting the existing Treatment Room, aviaries and pens, with the help of our friends, family & volunteers.

We have grown considerably since Summer 2007 due to the closure of the Gloucester Wildlife Rescue and as a result are now extremely popular over a wider area of the country.

Update (May 2008): We are now even bigger as many other centres are closing in Gloucestershire!!

VOLUNTEERS- We are always happy to hear from anyone wishing to help out at the centre.  If you can spare a few hours a week, please contact us on 01285 862439 and we can have a chat and make some arrangements to suit you.

Update; - We are in urgent need of some extra help.  If you can help out please contact the centre.

MEMBERSHIP- If you would like to become a member of the Friends of The Oak & Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre, please fill in the form on the Membership page.

Note from the Ed- This website is regularly updated but sometimes things get a little hectic so it may be a bit delayed. If you have any comments, ideas or complaints about the website, please email me. I'd be the one responsible but I do aim to please.

I hope you enjoy the site! Annie Rider (Chair/Web Editor)

MAY 2008 - CALL FROM THE WILD!!!  Can you help, please?

Since we have taken on more calls from all over Gloucestershire & Wiltshire areas our bills have gone through the roof!

FUNDRAISING STEERING COMMITTEE NEEDED

We desperately need help trying to raise more funds as our bills are astronomical now. If you can help by arranging events, organising car boot sales in your area or help out at others,  or being part of a fundraising steering committee, please get in touch. We are extremely busy working at the centre 24/7 almost, and don't have any time for extra fundraising, so we would really welcome anyone willing to help with this. Please ring us on 01285 862439 or email us at oakandfurrowswrc@msn.com.  Thank you.
